Addicted to music
I bought a Nakamichi BX1 cassette deck when i was in my late teens from Encel Stereo and had it since. It reminded me of the exciting times when I got into audio. As a kid I was so intreige of listening to music that it became my best friend! I convinced my parent to buy that $4.00 transistor radio and told them I only wanted it to listen to the news. As i grew older all the pocket money I collected I upraded: such as the clock radio, the Philips Portable Stereo with a tape player, eventually a bigger Akai set and then a Yamaha P200 TT with a AT120e cart. The most expensive purchase was The Nakamichi BX1 when Encel had there 10% discounts. I used this deck to record from the Akai portable that had a phono stage that was connected to the Yamaha P200. In 1996 when we moved into my 1st house I toss all my tape collection out during the move because my wife was pregnant with our daughter who was about to be born. 18 years later to now I was asked again by the better 1/2 dragged this deck out of the garage and was about to put into the hard rubbish! I posted it as a freebee here on SNA on another thread. Today I dropped it of to a lovely lady in Middle Park so it will be on its way to a new home. Im sure the SNA member here will have a special place for it. Before I let it go I made sure it was safe and sure enough after powering up all the mechanism still work! Here are some pics, farwell and good luck BX1! You have been the best deck a bloke could have for 30yrs!!!!

Addicted to music
Goodonya, Peter. And you dropped it off. Andy Sure did Andy! It was hard to let go! Hopefully the new owners will shed some light here, but I just hope it still works if not it gets restored to working order. If I still have some tapes I would have tested it and restored to its original intended glory, but I dont have any tapes to try, all the stuff I had on tapes are now on CD and are also ripped to HDD! Separation anxiety! Absolutely LP!
