Gerry Rafferty

I think the rock n roll lifestyle caught up with him

In truth, it had caught up with him in 1973. From then on it lingered, pulled up a jacuzzi and put on a smoking jacket, and then started planning renovations for an extra bedroom at Chez Rafferty so it could stay forever with the minimum of inconvenience. Baker Street was pure autobiography.

I have a couple of his albums, City to City and Baker Street a Best of. both on Vinyl

Always loved His Steelers Wheel effort with the hit song Stuck in the Middle. If you see the film clip of this song you'll see a devil eyed looking party fella just looking for some fun - I think he lived it.

Yes Great track defined an era--the debate still rages over who played the Famous Sax solo on the record  -depends which account of the time you read

Raphael Ravenscroft or Al Newman

If you don't have a copy of his album "North & South" your collection is not complete, every song enjoyable!

Some of my favourite tracks from the album "North & South" ; Hearts Run Dry, On A Night Like This, Winter's Come and Shipyard Town. Shows the talent of Gerry Rafferty the artist!
