pete_mac Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 GU039 </end thread> There is quite a few good ones. GU39 is a cracker - Dave Seaman is a champ. GU13 - Sasha Ibiza is one of my favorites. Lots of memories. I saw both Sasha and John Digweed play around that period of time. 1
manchu Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I just get pissed off when people make a playlist on a laptop and call themselves a DJ. Yep..kids these days have it way too easy! Auto BPM, cue points, etc etc...and no bad back from lugging crates of records around. I'm happy I learnt 'back in the day' and am proud to say I can beat match the hell out of most tracks, blindfolded and hammered. There's something strangely satisfying about getting a sweet mix, without aids, especially when mixing different genres. But, I've had Serato since 2006 and wouldn't like to do without it. It's tempting to trade the 1200's for an all in one controller, but I can't bring myself to do it. Anyway, I digress, so back on topic. I would not buy a DJ mix on vinyl....unless I was time warped back to pre-CD times.
davewantsmoore Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 IMO Serato is only cheating if you do less with it (ie. frees you up to do more) ... but I'm an armchair expert in all this
Xonnie316 Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Personally when it comes to DJ mixes I would go with CDs if you would like to collect them. Having them on vinyl won't be the same since its a continuous mix. But if its an DJ produced album like Sasha's Airdrawndagger I would definitely go for an LP.
