atavid
I converted some music tracks to flac using Audacity, but when i try to play them my Duet stalls and the light on front goes red, green, blue etc etc. I converted them into 48khz 16bit files . Am i doing something im not supposed to do that the Duet objects to ? I have also transferred all my files from a 4200rpm external drive to a Firewire connected 7200rpm drive. My SB is connected to my PC via ethernet cable btw. atavid
Well this one must have qualified for the "too hard basket". Actually it prompted me to completely reorganize my 12000 file based tracks ,so it wasnt a total loss. I think the problem was that my flac files may have been converted at too high a resolution for the Duet. Audacity has 3 settings for flac files one of which is "Level" going from 1-9. I dropped this back from 9 to 4 and re-exported the files. This seems to have worked,at least on the couple of tracks i tried early this morning. The SB Duet is a quirky beast,i noticed (after getting rid of all the folders i previously had my tracks organised in) that there is a view in the Duet handset where you can look into the folders in your music library. The handset has no trouble listing and displaying all the mp3's and mpeg-4's,BUT it will not display my folder with all my flac files in it.However the SB server on my PC does not have that problem. Who can figure these things out ?
audiomuze (R.I.P)
From memory the Receiver can play back up to 24/48. It could be that because 16/48 is an unusual combo it's not readily supported.
LogicprObe
I'm still at a loss as to why you would want to convert them anyway. Why not just use wav?
atavid
Hi Logic, only a few were wav,the rest were ogg vobis, wma and 192/24 files.I thought I should try and standardize all my files and at the same time see if I could make my unplayable files into a format that would work.
