markh3570
Does any one know much about these speakers that i picked up from the recycling 'tip' on the weekend for the princely sum of $5. Have hooked them up, sound great, are they worth keeping and what vintage would they be? Almost as heavy as my Gale GS 401's. Cheers Mark.
surprisetech
Looks like a respectable bit of kit. Would certainly be worth having a look at the labelling on the drivers to see what they are, and having a look at the crossover. Crossover would probably need recapping and tweeter could probably be updated, but neither of those need to be expensive if you didn't want to spend much. Would be helpful if you can post a good clear pic of the crossover network.
sean
I don't know much about the tech side of these speakers but they look like a great find. They do look like they may be from the 70's though.
emesbee
I don't know much about Heathkit speakers, but I remember seeing ads for them in hi-fi magazines a long time ago. Probably mid to late 70s, I reckon. I believe they were sold as kits, as the name suggests. Well, you can't go too far wrong for $5, and if they sound good then that is a bonus!
