Number 9 Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 It would be great if his customers joined in the celebrations, as he has so very few actual freinds. I suggest you send your best wishes to Ivor.Tiefenbrun@linn.co.uk
andyr Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) It would be great if his customers joined in the celebrations, as he has so very few actual freinds. I suggest you send your best wishes to Ivor.Tiefenbrun@linn.co.uk Given that he well knows who you are, Steve ... howsabout I send him the following "best wishes" email? Hi Ivor, Steve Tuckett tells me it's your birthday today - many happy returns! My 'SkeletaLinn' sounds even better than it did, as I now have Steve's "#9 TT" 33/45 PSU powering it (with a 24v Premotec motor). This PSU delivers plenty of drive and dynamics - and also gives me the ability to program motor speed (with a resolution of 0.001Hz), to compensate for stylus drag. However, as a result of this, I am changing its name to 'SkeletaL' ... as only the Linn: * Cirkus bearing * inner & outer platters, and * springs & grommets ... are left. All the best, Andrew ???? MrRogers Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Somehow I think that this time he'll unlease both barrels.
Number 9 Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Andy, Given our last three way, I don't think Uncle Ivor will appreciate it. Edited March 18, 2014 by Number 9
Newman Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Happy Birthday, Ivor Tiefenbrun, MBE (Services to the Electronics Industry). Have a happy life, mate. Your heart has always been in the right place. Your products have always been good quality. Your spin, however, despite being unexceptional and typical of the day, has done a lot of damage because of the way the English-speaking audiophile journalists picked your every word up and made them into slogans and bywords of what it means to be an audiophile. That's not your fault, really. These slogans got a life of their own and endured long past their use-by date, ultimately slowing down progress of the whole sector and deflecting attention onto insignificant issues. No matter, we will get there eventually. Have a beer on me and a slice of cake (make sure you get a slice with a candle on it, after all, it's your birthday!). 2

Number 9 Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 He's a Polish/Scot... He wouldn't give 2 shites what happens down here.... tase. Actually, these days he is more an Israeli / Scots citizen. And yes, he doesn't give two shites, here or pretty much anywhere else for that matter.
