I've bought a few lately. The ones we couldn't afford to buy when I was growing up. I still enjoy building them.

Since i bought some legos for the kids, getting me thinking that some of these toys are in fact appreciating, specially when it is becoming rare.

I have a bit of a collection, some unopened, some opened. I usually buy stuff I like, not necessarily as an investment. One of my favourite sets is the space shuttle. I still have all my lego from when I was a kid. I used to look forward to my birthday and Christmas as that was the only time I might get a new set. I'm sure lots of us remember shaking our wrapped gift to see if it was lego! Anyway I'm rambling…

I might buy some of those new Star Wars mini fighters as an investment, or maybe two sets so I can play with one. Ah the luxuries of being an adult!

Still have all my Lego from when I was a kid stashed under the house.

Still have the boxes and instruction books as well. Only problem is the boxes have been flattened so we could store them.

I've also got all my old matchbox cars and also my transformers. Was not happy when they did a reissue of Optimus Prime. I've got the original box, instructions etc.

Which ones did you buy Linc?

Cheers Dave.

The big Enzo Ferrari, an F1 car. Motorbike. That sort of thing. All technics. I love that sort of stuff.

The transformers are pretty funny! I only had one. It was a bird that folded into a tape. I was devastated when I dropped it off a balcony.

Sweeeet, the Enzo looks pretty cool.

I've got both of the tape Transformers, can't remember their names though. Will have to dig them out and have a look.

Cheers Dave.

Linc, the one that you had was called Laserbeak, I've got him and also Frenzy.

Sorry for taking the thread off topic. The Lego site is pretty cool. Can't seem to find many of my Lego peices on there. Can only find my Technics model of a go cart. Worth about $40 they say.

Cheers Dave.

I used to have a lot of the old 80's Technic kits.

The blue gokart

The big black car with boxer motor

The red beach buggy

The helicopter

The pneumatic excavator

And more which i forget now.

As well as the knight's castle, space station and a few other little men kits.

And the big chunky batterypack and little electric motors!

Used to love that one.

I'd often build the one on the picture once, then pour it all in to drawers with dividers, sort all the bits in to, I suppose Grab Packs and make my own creations from there.

Super long dragsters, 8 wheel vehicles with full suspension and steering on all wheels etc.

All that stuff is gone now though.

Passed it on to a mate who probably sold it on eBay haha.

It was all over in Europe at my parents house anyway and I couldn't justify dragging it over here just for the sake of keeping it.

Anyone see James May's toy stories when they built a house from LEGO?

the only unfortunate thing with the train is the power packs are sold separately and we had to get those off eBay sellers as lego and others out of stock :) power pack is neat though with remote control and battery and receiver which instal pretty simply to power up :)

Oh yes, as with many other types inluding some of the Technic, most probably trying to keep the cost down for those who don’t need it but than whats the point selling power fuctions capable kit without power pack? ?
