Bus_Boy Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Hello all ive been trying to replace my tv for a little whike now. I brought a samsung 64" 5500 and within a few weeks I lost about 8 inches of picture from the right hand side. I was told the panel would need replacing but ive haf a samsung panel replaced previously and that one has just suffered from retention again from the win news logo. So I took a store credit option instead. I back ordered a 65st60a but have just been told they cant get any more. So now I need to narrow down my choice with whats available in the store. I mention gaming in the title because I have an xbox one id lije to setup. It wont get a ton of use but im worried about burning an image in none the less. Ive always preferred plasma but this time im staying open to the idea of an led. Right now there's nothing 65 inch in stock so I either go up or down. 60 inch theres the Sony 550a which ive been told us a sony processor tied to an LG panel. Otherwise theres the samsung 60f8500. Great looking tv and ive read the rave reviews, but could the xbox damage it ? Btw im not bothered with input lag spec. My only other option is to step up to the sharp 70 lc70le650x which is on sale. Id be forking out about another 4-500 but id secure a bigger screen that wouldn't give me grief on the xbox, but what's the image like in a dark room can you actually get a reasonable picture or will I always be criticizing it after only ever owning plasmas ?
avalon27 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 i think you can still buy a 65inch panasonic bus boy...
Bus_Boy Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 All the places I've seen them once I have rang said they didn't have any stock left .
Bus_Boy Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 The Sharp 70 is down to about 2400 im looking around online for any sort of calibration settings I might be able to take as a guide and see if the store will let me move it to a dark corner and bring a bdp along and connect it up. At the moment they have it set up in the light and I tinkered with a 1000 screen while waiting for assistance and it looked better than the big led.
