This is a genuine late model TDA1541A S2 on ebay now, its real and will go for plenty. One sold resently for $670

Thought the Taiwan S2 double crown isn't as good as the Dutch S1 single crown? And yet still so ex?  :blink: The S1 must cost even more then?  :o

 

Finally own something that appreciates in value, but then again, I have no idea if my S2 is legit or not. :lol:.

I like the 1988 single and double crowns better than the later 1997 Taiwan chip.  Each chips sound is so dependent on the flavor of the batch, and all the facets of the chip working in Harmony. Some sound absolutely magnifient. Do you what to send me a close up picture and i will tell you if it is real.

I think I've got one of those, or at least, I've got the internals of an Arcam alpha 5+ cd player which I think contains a single crown TDA1541.  I'd have to look to be certain (not to mention checking its pedigree with someone who might know) but if it is then you're welcome to it.  I'll dig it out tomorrow and take a look.
