Hi guys

I have decided that I am going to build a Roon Server using an i5 NUC. Can anyone tell me as it seems a bit vague, can any NUC become a Roon server or are there elements that absolutely need to be there for it to be regarded as OK.

I have a basket filled at PC Case Gear and before I hit the go button and make a mistake getting the wrong NUC, would any of you NUC aficionados mind having a look and tell me if what I'm ordering is ok.

Hopefully you can see the image ok

Thank you in advance for any advice that you can give

Cheers

Dave

Do you need both m.2 and ssd?

Yep, the ROON ROCK gets installed on the M.2 and the music library on the SSD. I don't need anything like 1TB for the OS but thats the cheapest M.2 on the site...

Scratch that, I went back and checked and there is a 500mb M.2 for half the price 🙂

Have you considered some of the other brands?  I needed a new desktop machine and bought a Minisforum.  It has been superb.  Has room for an SSD in addition to the NVMe, came with 64GB ram,  built on AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX with Radeon Graphics.  Saved quite a bit of money.  They have lots of different models.
