Davey Willo Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Hi guys Tomorrow I'm off buy the bits I need to build an Intel NUC Roon Server and want to power it with an LPS. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions, I don't want to get crazy on price but also not bargain basement territory either. I'm currently using a Teddy Pardo to power my EtherREGEN. I haven't been in the LPS requirement zone for about 5 years so I'm a bit out of touch with what's out there. TIA to all Cheers Dave

I would think you can't go wrong with an LPS from Clay Gieseler, here on SNA. (Note: he's currently on holiday in Japan .... so he may not be able to respond quickly, if you contact him.) 2
Gieseler Audio Posted May 1 Posted May 1 @andyr Hi Dave, my 19v 4A Kraftwerk II would be ideal to power a Intel NUC Roon Server. Cost is $700 including delivery & the correct DC cable to suit the NUC. Should be in stock but I currently in Japan so I can check when I return to Australia on the 8th of May. 1
Barry_72 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Hi Dave I built my own Nuc Roon Server and can testify that Clay's 19v Kraftwerk II is brilliant, you won't be disappointed if you were to proceed. I have had about 4 or 5 of Clays products and they all improved my system, plus Clay is great to deal with. Cheers Barry 2
Davey Willo Posted Monday at 10:17 AM Author Posted Monday at 10:17 AM Thanks guys I'm still to buy the parts, my local PLE are useless, I'm going to have to use PC Case Gear again, I just hate not having local bricks and mortar to walk into if a part is faulty or fails. I have filled out my cart, I just have to pull the trigger. https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/j4uDfF I'll give you a call Clay. Cheers Dave 1

Take the server home and log in to your Roon account; everything should be fine. Do you have any plans for a dedicated USB card port? Having a dedicated USB card will significantly improve sound quality, unless you already have a dedicated renderer. Lastly, not sure if I want to post my contact number in the public forum. Perhaps edit and remove it to be safe? 2

And are you saying that I should install a dedicated USB card into the NUC for better SQ? I am currently feeding over wifi from my laptop which has the Roon core installed on it.... Not a good way I know that which is why I'm going to a dedicated server hardwired into the EtherREGEN. Are you ok with DMing me your phone number and I'll call you to set up a time to come visit. Thanks again Chanh, very impressed and grateful of your generosity. Regards Dave
