BTam Posted April 21 Posted April 21 My Sony IER-M9 right side is not working properly, called Sony approved repairer in Sydney and they don't repair it, visited official Sony service centre in Tokyo, they looked at it and said it's Australia model hence they can't repair it. Am I stuck? I have an idea: if I buy a used Sennheiser IE300, as both have similar cable end connector, replace the broken Right Sony M9 by the Sennheiser IE300, would it work? Google says both cables are not the same and may not be compatible, but both are mmcx types aren't they? I tested with wearing LHS Sony M9 and RHS other earphone by using double adapter (so both earphones used for 2 people on airplanes), the sound is acceptable but it's inconvenient hence this idea of replacing Sony right unit with other earphones (eg IE300) Right unit, as long as that unit accepts Sony M9 cable connector. Please comment and whether you guys have an idea not to throw away the expensive Sony M9. Thanks and cheers,
