I have now had the Maya Mk 4 for over a year now,  It continues to amaze me just how good this amp is.

It still has so much soft detail, air, drive soundstage and sweet harmonics as previous models, but the bass control is now as good as I've ever heard.

In the past 12 months I have bee fortunate to compare it directly with three other amps, a $16.5k integrated, a pair large monoblocks around  $30k and another huge integrated which if imported would sell between $45 and $50k. The Maya won out with both my (unbiassed?) and independent ears.

If anyone is interested in Hugh's amps they are welcome to pop around for an audition as Hugh may not be producing these marvellous amps (including the Titan) forever.

Hi Dennis,

Have you tried the Maya with different preamps / different dacs?

I have the Doge7 in my own system now, and have had great results by changing over the tubes.

Cheers,

HI G, no, but the Doge 8 seems to be an perfect match with the Maya amp, I have tried various nos tubes etc in it  but the Psvarne Art Series  tubes seem the best, I am thinking that my last upgrade will be the dac and have tried a couple against the Chord 2qute without being convinced, I am thinking the Denafrips Pontus 15th  or the Laiv Harmony as possible dac upgrades.  I think I have the equal of any power amp out there so the Maya will probably outlive me.
