Pjbate Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Hi everyone, ok so I am so torn.. I have some lovely MartinLogan 35XTis hooked up to a Marantz NR1711 and they are bi-amp'd and set to 4 Ohms on the system. I have them paired with a single Sunfire SR8 subwoofer and they sounds great. Nice and warm, enough punch thanks to the Sunfire and sound great for movies, TV and music. But... the new MartinLogan Motion XT B100's have ben out for a while and on paper aren't that much more detailed but jeez they look nice! Has anyone compared the two? Is it worth trying to sell the 35's and upgrade to the 100s? I'm so torn and its a lot of cash to part with for what might be only an incremental improvement in sound. What are your thoughts? should I look at upgrading to the 100's or is there something better out there for that price point or should I stop spending money I should be putting towards my super haha!
075Congo Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Your closest MartinLogan dealer is Eastwood HI FI.......might be worth a visit to see the speakers in the flesh and hear them of course. Suffering "upgradeitis" is a nasty affliction with the most common symptom being the desire to spend $$ quickly and pay attention to strange advice. Take your time and resist temptation. 1
