Received a Hubbl Hub (aka Sky Stream in other regions) purchased on impule a few days ago.

For context, we have Fetch x 6 throughout our home, so TWO independent accounts necessary sadly (a silly rule of only 3 boxes per account, given the number of TVs in most households these days). Costs do stack up.

What won me over was the small size, price ($79), native Kayo, but also Binge which is the only streaming service we don't have. Then the ability to "stack" the streaming apps via Hubbl for discounts. You can migrate them to Hubbl, but I have not tried that yet. There's also universal search, which searchs across streaming apps and FTA - handy considering you never know what platform a show is on these days!

Ultimately I find the GUI slicker and zippier than Fetch, plus the streaming apps feel more integrated than Fetch (which feels like an Android box that goes off and loads into streaming apps, then sometimes can be difficult exiting back to Fetch).

Biggest drawback so far is the inability to record - and then watch on another box in the house. If we can get past that, we'll probably drop Fetch at some near point.

Has anyone else switched to Hubbl from Fetch?

Hey Marc,

Thanks for the mini-review / impressions.

I have the Fetch 4K device, but since it was bulky and slow (at least until 2023), also due to the fact I switched to Apple TV (iTunes) for my digital library, I decided to retire Fetch early last year. IMO, other devices like the ATV 4K and Google TV (either Chromecast or the new Streamer, I don't like the Firestick TV) are faster for navigation, have a smooth UI and the search is easy.

If (or when) you integrate your subscribed services through Hubbl, I’d be happy to hear how it goes. I’m subscribed to 6 services myself, so if the discounts and platforms integration stack well through the "hub", that could be a compelling reason to jump in, but for now-- I’m not sold yet. :=)

Cheers
