Creating a high-fidelity listening environment requires more than just premium audio equipment—it demands precise acoustic treatment to optimize sound clarity, balance, and immersion. Project 3388 KOSA exemplifies this approach, transforming a standard room into a carefully engineered Hi-Fi listening space with Artnovion’s absorbers, diffusers, and bass traps.

To further refine low-frequency performance, we also conducted acoustic tests using four PSI AVAA C214 active bass traps, measuring their impact on the room’s frequency response and reverberation time. This article details the design, installation process, and acoustic improvements achieved in this project, including before-and-after measurement data.

For those interested in real-world audio comparisons, we will be sharing a separate article featuring pink noise and song tests to demonstrate the audible difference with and without the AVAA C214 units. Stay tuned for that analysis!

Precision in Acoustic Design: 3D Scanning for Room Analysis

Before implementing any acoustic treatment, it is crucial to understand the room’s dimensions, surfaces, and structural elements. At Corsini Acoustic Solutions, we use advanced 3D scanning technology to capture an accurate digital model of the space.

This method provides precise room measurements, allowing us to design acoustic treatments that seamlessly integrate with the existing architecture. By scanning the room in detail, we can identify potential acoustic challenges, such as irregular surfaces, reflective areas, and bass accumulation zones, before the installation even begins.

For Project 3388 KOSA, our 3D scanning process laid the foundation for a highly optimized acoustic solution, ensuring every absorber, diffuser, and bass trap was placed with maximum efficiency. This step eliminates guesswork and allows for a data-driven acoustic approach, guaranteeing the best possible sound performance.

3D Acoustic Design: Bringing the Vision to Life

In this project, we take you through the complete process of designing and implementing a high-performance acoustic treatment. Starting with precise 3D scanning, we captured the room’s dimensions and layout to create an optimized 3D acoustic design. Using a combination of diffusers, absorbers, corner bass traps (showed in the final pictures) and PSI AVAA C214 active bass traps, we transformed the space for superior sound clarity and control. This article covers the before and after treatment results, along with detailed analysis and testing. A follow-up blog will provide real-world audio comparisons, including pink noise and music tests to showcase the sonic improvements.

Structural Planning with Fixing Systems: These blueprints showcase the precise placement of acoustic treatments along with the fixing systems used. The Artnovion FixArt Tube system is implemented for Andrea and Sahara absorber panels, while the Alps and Lagos panels utilize their integrated fixing system. Additionally, we can see the Mobile Kit, offering flexible placement for acoustic solutions.

Isometric View of Acoustic Installation: A comprehensive top-down and isometric perspective displaying the full acoustic layout, including panel placement and mounting solutions. The FixArt Tube system, integrated fixing for Alps and Lagos panels, and the Mobile Kit are clearly illustrated, ensuring a structured and effective installation process.

This section highlights how we use advanced 3D modeling to visualize and fine-tune every aspect of the acoustic treatment. By integrating diffusion, absorption, and bass control, we create a room that not only sounds incredible but also looks refined and cohesive. The renders help ensure the final installation aligns perfectly with both acoustic performance goals and aesthetic preferences.

Ceiling Panel Installation: The team secures the ceiling diffusers, enhancing sound dispersion and minimizing unwanted reflections.

The installation phase is where careful planning and detailed 3D design come to fruition. Every panel, diffuser, and bass trap must be precisely positioned to ensure optimal acoustic performance. Using laser alignment tools and secure fixing systems, our team meticulously installs each component, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic integration. The process involves mounting wall and ceiling treatments with precision to achieve the predicted reverberation control, enhancing clarity and definition in the room.

Post-Treatment Acoustic Analysis: Evaluating the Impact of 4 AVAA C214 Units

Following the installation of four PSI AVAA C214 active bass traps, we conducted a series of post-treatment measurements to analyze their impact on room acoustics. The data shows significant improvements in clarity, bass control, and reverberation time reduction. The frequency response graphs illustrate a more balanced low-end, while the RT60 decay measurements confirm a more controlled and even room response. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the AVAA C214 units in achieving tighter bass, improved definition, and an overall more refined acoustic environment.
