Angelof Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Since I was a child I played with electronics, when I grew up it became a hobby that I was very passionate about and gave me a lot of pleasure. I love music and building with my own hands something that made it sound better really made me happy. The kits were often found on Amazon or Aliexpress and stimulated my desire to modify them and make them better and better. I want to share with you a small part of these works of mine... 9 2
dennist Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Looks like some different preamps there, yes it's great to diy and modify stuff, BTW which was/are the best preamp you have built? 2

Hi Dennis, thanks for the reply, I have built several preamps to pass the time and because I like to build them, it is easy to find them in kit form thanks to Aliexpress which offers many excellent ones, each one has its own sound using various circuits and various valves, it is interesting to discover that generally tubes sound better than any other circuit, at the point that I have a completely valve system starting from the phono preamp, I'll post some photos so you can see what it is, generally they are all well made kits and sound very good 6
dennist Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Thanks for the reply, yes some look high quality, I still have the first preamp that I built a "David Tilbrook" series 5000. I am currently using what I think is a great valve preamp, Doge 8 LP with Psvarne Art Series Tubes which matches very well with Hugh Dean's latest Maya power amps that I assembled, I have compared the Maya directly with other power amps ranging in price from $15k to $50k and it's proved quite superior so I will be sticking with it. 2

AKSA 'Maya' - a great-sounding amp! And, yes a Doge 8 should sound very good with it. 1

Hi, you have excellent equipment, I haven't listened to them personally but people say good things about them, I have a vinyl system with all valves and Focal chorus 726 speakers that sound very good, partly built by me and partly bought, like the Cayin 45 mk3 kt88 and the Reisong 300b in pure class A, these too adapted by me and improved over time 1
