Dear members and friends of Sydney Audio Club Inc.,

The first Sydney Audio Club meeting for 2025 will be held on the 19th January at Dence Park.

Following many suggestions from members that to properly audition equipment we should have a standard set of tracks which are played each month to create an aural image for comparison with previous meetings.
We imagine that all the audiophiles in the club will have their own test tracks they use to evaluate their gear, even the ‘go to’ track that you play first after changing a cable, amplifier, front end gear, DAC or speakers. With this in mind we are asking each member to bring their favourite ‘test tracks’ so that an audition list can be created for club use.

We are looking forward to hearing what you bring along when you test your equipment to demonstrate and listen for:
Rock - Jazz - Classical - Solo Piano - Solo Guitar - Soundtrack – Female vocal – Male vocal -Choral - Treble response - Bass response - Percussion - Sibilance - Soundstage - Transient response – etc., "Test Tracks".

We will vote on the tracks to be included in our audition list.

The success of this meeting will depend on the test tracks you bring along on CD or USB format.

If you know you will be away – as many are in January – please feel free to reply by email with your suggested tracks.

Just a first notice that the Sydney Audio Club Inc. Annual General Meeting will be held in conjunction with our February meeting on Sunday 9th February at Dence Park. A separate email notice will be sent to all financial club members.

The doors will open from 1:00 pm to meet and chat with members and the music will start at 2:00 pm.
There will not be a TechTalk this month.

The Luxman series amplifiers were highly respected and this amplifier and preamp owned by one of our members have been completely re -worked with new capacitors delivering 150 watts of power.

The clubs Reavon CD player will be used as well as the March Audio cables owned by the club.
This is a fine home system to evaluate the music.

Pens and paper will be provided and guidance on how to rate, score and vote for the final test tracks should lead to an interesting meeting.

Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others. Feel free to come and hear the capabilities of the system, or to just share the experience with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound.

Venue: Mathews Room, Epping Creative Centre, Dence Park
Address: 26 Stanley Road, Epping
When: Sunday 19th January

Doors open from 1:00 pm to meet and chat with members.

If you need to stretch your legs during the afternoon please wait for a break between tracks to prevent any interference with other members’ enjoyment.
To our guests, we respect the music being played so please refrain from talking while the music is on. You will find there are chances for plenty of happy banter between tracks.

Hope to see you there on Sunday 19th.
