Alfred hitchock's Rear Window on 4k uhd blu-ray and 4th for me in the set as part of the Iconic movie collection.

This one is also from 1954 so another movie that was made an amazing 70 years ago ! The restoration has been kind to the grain with film stock from so long ago. This movie is quite unique in being completely studio shot and seen from central characters perspective. Mystery intrigue, comedy romance, some lovely acting from magnificent leads ..this movie is another of Hitchcocks masterpieces that has it all.

Some screen shots below so can see how comes up via our 4k jvc projector

She is so beautiful.

Amazing lady Grace Kelly.

Watching the bonus material that followed the movie, I heard that every day the cast and crew would wait on set to be indulged in her presence …

what is hard to appreciate is she retired from acting at 26 !! Only 2 years after this movie To be princess of Monaco. Won an academy award and remains at no13 on American film institutes  25 greatest female stars list !

Another great film by Hitch. Fun fact: The set from Rear Window consisted of 31 apartments (8 completely furnished) and 1000 arc lights to simulate sunlight. Hitchcock felt the buildings weren't tall enough and had the studio ground floor torn out, thus revealing the studio basement which acted as the courtyard/street level. Hitchcock absolutely hated shooting on location, and the fact he couldn't control every element of the lighting etc. So rather than find an apartment complex (which would have been easier), he built it!
