Looking at buying a new Hyundai Hybrid Tucson Elite 1.6 FWD.

Based on google pricing with car/onroad/some extras etc. it came in at $54,000.

What is a good discount price from a dealer with a sharp pencil.

The Car guy on 3AW says now is a good time to buy, with there being more cars than buyers in the market.

Thoughts on a fair discount? And No, I don’t need all the what about this, that and the other discussions please and thank you.

I have been in contact with 'Private Fleet' and they have sent out a tender.

Thoughts.

sounds like a nice car..definitely look up Hyundai's official website for pricing.. it gives a baseline

this is dependant on a LOT of factors.. supply and demand... usually playing biggest factor

theres a few times in year in my experience what are good times to buy... whether now is a time for your specific car depends on the factors listed above ...

this is best sussed out with car dealer in question and crossed checked with a few other ones...

just ask what is their BEST price ...

prior to that do research eg. look at car sales.. will give you an idea what is pricing out there

new, dealer demo, used... keep in mind these are wish pricing ... as in seller wishes to sell doesnt mean what they will get but will also give some ideas ...

eg looking at car model narrowed down and looks like not that many 2nd hand, couple of dealer demo and few listed new... given the very limited number itself indicates you could look at dealer demos pricing as probably threshold...

https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/hyundai/tucson/elite-badge/victoria-state/melbourne-region/hybrid-fueltype/petrol-electric-fuelsubtype/

do consider dealer demos as you can expect a near new car and still ask and get full new car buying experience ....

is this a lease car ? as a heads up PHEV (plug in hybrid ev) can be had on novated lease prior to April next year with no FBT on lease.. making for very attractive buying.. though unsure if the tucson is available in this config.

while lease companies might come back with pricing.. from my own experience it should not replace your own efforts to get best price.. which often can direct with a dealership ...not something can do from arm chair or on phone or via keyboard. best get to few local dealerships to explore....
