aussievintage Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 An album I have had since it came out in the 70s - A Song for Tooley, is currently playing, and I decided to search out some info. Wow, median value on Discogs is $250, an my copy is mint, and still has the foldout insert. https://www.discogs.com/release/2837973-Headband-A-Song-For-Tooley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headband_(band)
Kaynin Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Not surprised. The Ashcroft Primary School choir have always been in demand. 1
SONDEKNZ Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 (edited) I recall HEADBAND were a Kiwi outfit, fronted by TOMMY ADDERLEY - if my memory serves. I have always enjoyed their big hit from around 1971: "GOOD MORNING MR. ROCK AND ROLL" and still give it a stream on occasion. This song was also featured on the 20 SOLID GOLD HITS VOL. 2 LP compilation that my parents purchased, back in the day - some of my earliest music memories... It never fails to bring a smile. I see that this hit is not on the album you mentioned. That surprised me. Edited December 21, 2024 by SONDEKNZ 1

SONDEKNZ Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Oh well. In this world of excess, it seems one can never have too many HEADBANDs...
aussievintage Posted December 21, 2024 Author Posted December 21, 2024 Just now, SONDEKNZ said: Oh well. In this world of excess, it seems one can never have too many HEADBANDs... I expect the name comes from member Peter Head. 1
