Two Melbourne men behind one of Australia's largest ever meth importing schemes have both been jailed for decades.

In April 2019, the pair had planned to collect a consignment in Melbourne containing stereo speakers from Thailand, the County Court of Victoria heard on Wednesday.

But the Australian Border Force intercepted the shipment. Hidden inside the speakers was 1.6 tonnes of methamphetamine and 37 kilograms of heroin.
