Batty Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) As some of you know I have an Elite Rock II, bought new in '86, but I also have a 1980 Luxman PD264 that has been modified a little to solidify the base/bass (sorry for the pun). I have recently acquired an SME2009 with a removable headshell. My question is, do I replace the modified RB250 on the Rock and put the RB250 on the PD264 or put the SME on the Luxman? The GST-1 now fitted on the Luxman has a few problems in the bearing area. The cartridges I have are:- MM - Shure V15 type III with a Jico SAS Stylus. MC - Denon 103r, Goldring Elite, VdH DDT-II special and AT 33. What a 1st world dilemma. Edited December 9, 2024 by Batty Spelling 1
marcusD Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Fit the sme to the Luxman and whichever cart is compliant with a 12 gram arm, you can buy heavier counter weights for the 3009 to balance heavier cart/ head shell combo’s as well. is the 3009 improved or non improved?
Batty Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) It is a series 2, I'll check the serial number to see if it improved or not. Edited December 9, 2024 by Batty
