Bronal Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Does anyone know of a low-gain valve preamp (say 3-6 dB) with an input that can cope with 4V without clipping? And before anyone suggests it, no I'm not interested in a passive device.

I must confess I'd forgotten about Earle. I'll shoot him an email and see what he has to say. 1

Look at Schiit tube pre's, many have switchable gains. The Valhalla @ 3.5dB may suit. https://www.schiit.com/products/valhalla-1 Cheers George Edited December 12, 2024 by georgehifi
Andythiing Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I was thinking prima Luna but I think they are around 9db?
kelossus Posted January 5 Posted January 5 @Bronal Is 10db gain too much? I have a preamp that'll fit the bill if you can get away with 10db. 1
