Dear members and friends of Sydney Audio Club Inc.,

The next Sydney Audio Club meeting on the 8th of December is our Annual End of Year BBQ and the Traditional Guessing Competition with Prizes to be won. Please bring along pre-loved equipment e.g. Cables, CDs, HiFi gadgets, etc. to donate to the prize pool (further details later in the bulletin.)

The doors will open from 12 midday for the BBQ. Please bring $10 for the BBQ which includes food and a drink + 2 raffle tickets. Extra chances to win prizes are available at 1 ticket for $5 or 5 tickets for $15. Some prizes are quite valuable. Wives, partners or extra friends are invited as well.

There will be no TechTalk this month however Andrew Hutchison from Stereotech Dellichord will be presenting the Australian designed Dellichord FR2035, Active, Isobaric, 3 way floorstander and also a bonus presentation of the new Dellichord 70S loudspeaker. These are at opposite ends of the Dellichord range - the top end FR2035 and the entry level 70S.

Neither of these loudspeakers are yet in retailers and the only people who have heard them are visitors to the Sydney and Melbourne HiFi Shows. This means the Sydney Audio Club is amongst the first to experience these loudspeakers.

Details of the system for December 8:

Speakers 2: Dellichord 70S loudspeaker which is designed in three options
1. The 70S RTA - ready to assemble - a DIY kit allowing you to truly be a part of the process of creating your loudspeakers by painting and assembling. This is supplied with a completed crossover to ensure that all 70S owners experience the same wonderful sound profile.
2. The 70S RTP - ready to paint - fully assembled in raw birch plywood for you to immerse yourself in customising your speakers your way.
3. The 70S Retail ready - clear coated, assembled, ready to enjoy straight out of the box. You will see stands in the images which are designed specifically for the 70S and for record storage. These are available as a separate purchase

The second half of the music session is designed to help you evaluate the system with music that you are familiar with. All members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. For this meeting you may bring some music via USB or request a track via streaming. The club’s Reavon player will be available to play CDs. We will also have a sheet of paper where members can request a track to be played (limit of 1 track request per member) and 10 of those tracks will be randomly selected for play.

All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 5 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go.

Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others. Feel free to come and hear the capabilities of the system, or to just share the experience with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound.

Venue:  Mathews Room, Epping Creative Centre, Dence Park
Address:  26 Stanley Road, Epping
When:  Sunday 8th December

Doors open from 12:00 pm to meet and chat with members and the BBQ followed by the Guessing Competition to win Prizes. All the Prizes will be displayed on a table with the names of the donor companies and prizes can be selected in order as tickets are drawn. if your ticket is drawn. The first few Prizes are for members only.

The Dellichord and Music Presentation starts around 2:00 pm before taking a 2nd break at 3:30 pm. The meeting will finish at 5:00 pm.
If you need to stretch your legs during the afternoon please wait for a break between tracks to prevent any interference with other members’ enjoyment.

To our guests, we respect the music being played so please refrain from talking while the music is on. You will find there are chances for plenty of happy banter between tracks.

It is a requirement of entry that you sign-in in the visitors’ book. You are not required to wear a mask but you may wish to do so.

Hope to see you there on Sunday 8th.

Really disappointed having missed this jovial  Christmas event and the following demo of some superb equipment.

The members I spoke to on the phone about the event told me, it was a great success and everyone had a joyful time.

Our sincere collective thanks should go to the BBQ 'sponsors' Len Wallis Audio and David Burgchard from Space HiFi  for their generous donations

in our "guessing competition".

Also gratitude to all that helped make this seasonal meeting a success by putting it together.  Well done fellas!

Wishing everyone, members and friends, a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
