VinBrom Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 (edited) Hello I just picked up a pair of Mordaunt-Short MS 502 THX speakers, the ones with the built-in active subwoofer. (I say "I picked up" but it took two people to carry each speaker, they are really heavy.) The tweeters, mid and bass speakers are working fine but the subs in both are producing little or no sound (not counting the ear-bursting pop one makes when the amp is turned on). I've dismantled the box with the popping amp and the speaker itself is fine, but the amp has some burned resistors on one of the boards. I've not opened the other box but my guess is that amp needs work as well. Fortunately I got them (and a matching centre) for very cheap. The capacitors in the cross-overs look to be OK. Does anybody know an electronics repair person in Sydney Australia that could get them working again? Edited November 25, 2024 by VinBrom
