Do many people ever use a computer in their vinyl playback chain?  I suspect some, at least, use it when recording vinyl to digital formats like mp3 or flac.   I also use it to enhance playback of old records - such as 7" 45 rpm discs that are, well, less than pristine.

The screenshot below shows a typical session for me.  All running under Linux Mint, using Jack audio system, Carla host rack, and various plugins.  They include input rumble filter, noise gate, equaliser, scratch filter, bass enhancer,  and most important of all - a fancy denoiser (dynamic freq dependent compression and eq).

I have discovered these plugins by trying many. All free (except the denoiser, but it's cheap)  For example, the bass enhancer is way more than a tone control.  It actually generates 2nd and 3rd harmonics within controllable frequency limits and levels.  Very effective.    The noise gate can help silence leadin and leadout grooves, and noise while the record changer changes records.    The denoiser can even remove groove wear noise/sibilance with careful adjustment in the 10kHz region.     There may be others that would be useful.
