GC HIFI December GTG Announced

Some great news for SNA members and local audiophiles here in south east Queensland and northern NSW, we will be hosting here at GC HiFi one last GTG for 2024 on Saturday 7th December from 4pm to 8:30pm, its always good to be able to hear actually playing new and different Hifi components, especially when like at this gtg its a first time in Queensland.

 

So what new will we be playing at our upcoming GTG? How about a pair of the stunning FYNE F1-8S floorstanders and FYNE's new SuperTrax Super tweeter, those of you who have read anything I wrote about the recent SNA HiFi show in Melbourne would know that I am truly impressed with Fynes new super tweeter and what they add in SQ improvement to a pair of speakers has to be heard to be truly appreciated and to highlight the difference and improvement they make I will be doing back to back comparisons with the SuperTrax both connected and disconnected. Add to that the F1-8S floor stander, the F1-8 stand mount was in itself a excellent sounding speaker, Fyne's floor stander and upgraded version of the F1-8 is a big step up and I reckon few audiophiles would not be very impressed by them.  

 

That's not all though we will also have playing the Italian Audio Analogue Maestro Anniversary and AACento Integrated amplifiers. Again for this GTG we will have three rooms showcasing various systems for your listening pleasure and comparisons.

 

As with all of our GTGers we like to keep them small so there will be limited spots available, so please contact me as soon as convenient if you would like to attend so I can make sure you are on the list. Again as per usual, drinks, snacks and Pizza will be provided through out the event so no one passes out through malnourishment or thirst.

 

While it is getting close to the end of the year I thought it would be good to squeeze in one more GTG, then, its only a two plus month wait until we kick off again in 2025 with our first GTG of the year, plus why wait any longer then required to hear how bloody good the FYNE SuperTrax actually are, bang for dollar it is one of the best improvements I have heard in Hifi in a long time.

Listened to and saw these these at the show and you too Terry when you wandered past(slim!! WD mate)

I didn't get a lot of time listening to them but that ugly telegram thing on the top of the Fyne's had me intrigued and I'd like to know more and have a good listen in a more friendly listening environment.

Not sure I could make it up before Xmas but I'll let know if I can.

Well Christmas is arriving early, the Fyne F1-8S floor standers that will be one of the features at our next GTG early next month unexpectedly arrived this morning, so now its unboxing, set up and listening time, can't wait.

Hi Mark,

 

Thanks for conforming that you are coming along, your name is on the list and yes am I very much looking forward to the GTG as well, last one for the year and more than likely around 3 months or so.

 

It was also interesting to compare the size of the F702's to the F1-8S's, not much in it.

Well it’s going to be a busy week getting everything that needs to be unboxed done and then set up for next weekends Gold Coast Hifi Clubhouse GTG. 

 

Thankfully not all of yesterdays arrivals are for next weekends GTG.
 

In all seriousness the one thing I truly dread is trying to store all the boxes and then find them when it’s time to repack everything. thankfully I have a very patient and understanding wife.

 

We still have a few spots available if you would like to come along. Pm or call me for details and to reserve a spot.

I feel your pain, it is bad enough finding room to store the boxes for our home HiFi, for a business would be a nightmare!

Well here is some really good news, I have just received a last minute inclusion for this Saturdays Gold Coast Hifi Clubhouse GTG.

Until a couple of days ago while I knew of and had seen up close Epos speakers I had not heard them. To say I’m seriously impressed with the SQ and massive controlled bass for a speaker of this size and price range that they deliver would be an understatement. So now the third room is sorted with the Epos, the front room will have the F1-8S’s set up, the main room will have the F704’s with Supertrax SuperTweeters playing. I will be doing various back to back comparisons with the Supertrax connected and not so what they add will be more than obvious.
 

If your local and want to come along between 4pm and 8:30pm this Saturday there are still a couple of spots available, please Pm me or call me on 0418691294 to secure one of the spots.

Finally the main room is set up with the F-704’s and the Fyne SuperTrax super tweeters providing the noise and what a stunning noise it is, still I’ll let those who come to rage GTG judge for them selves if the SuperTrax are as good as I have been raving about.

 

I’m looking forward to this final Gold Coast Hifi Clubhouse GTG for 2024, It’s so good to be able to have set up three very different systems for this gtg.

The Super Tweeters are really exceptional - I was surprised what a difference they made to the sound of already wonderful speakers.

The bring a more spacious feeling to the music (3D?)

They sound as amazing as they look. 

Really good value for the big difference they made 

 

@Cafad Sorry you did not make it down to this one - but I did enjoy your Pepsi

Hi Miss Snow.  I am sorry I missed this one but I'm afraid this last weekend was one of those where I had no choice but to work.  It's a curse, but a mixed one since overtime means additional earnings and additional earnings is directly proportional to additional amplifiers.

 

I'm sure Terry will manage (somehow) without me, he's a hardy lad, but I will have to ensure that I bring additional    's with me on my next trip to the GC.

Are those F1-8S's staying for a while Terry?  Or were they just visiting for the GTG?

At this stage yes they are here for a while, I actually would like to hear them in the main room and that is not something I would usually do with a speaker of this (lack) size.

Excellent!  I'll have to make my way both east and south to the Gold Coast to hear this mid-sized Fyne before it departs for places unknown.

I believe they call it south east, but being a good old country boy you can call it ‘both east and south’ if you like. …. Just don’t forget to stop at the pie shop on the way.
