catman Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 G'day all, I was doing some internet surfing last night on the general subject of FET 'sound' and FET 'warmth'. As an occasional DIYer myself using FET's I have noticed a certain pleasant warmth when using FET's in audio circuits. This led me onto the subject of the OPA2134 dual op amp which has a FET input stage reputed to improve audio quality. Any thoughts or comments on this? Regards, Felix.

I have always found the diference between opamps to be marginal at best. That said, yes, I did prefer to OPA2134 over other reasonably priced opamps. To be fair, I did not try the super expensive ones (like some "discrete" opamps). I compared them in a phono amp circuit. IIRC I think that's what I ended up using in my Topping D10 dac as well.
