Oppo or Sony?

I have an oppo 105 and have the opportunity to get a SONY Ubp-x800 4K player. 
Will this be an audio/video upgrade?

For what purpose? Just for the 4k?

Taking educated guesses based on owning Oppo 103, 203 and previous Sony UHD players.

 

For movies, likely to have a PQ upgrade. SQ likely to be the same via HDMI, for stereo music,  SACD, movies.

Sorry, I can't comment on the comparison. 

But I will say that as someone who previously would often gravitate to Sony products, I won't touch them now. 

We had appalling customer service when one of their products (<$100) exploded within the warranty period, it took over 6m of them fighting our consumer rights before they would replace, and the replacement didn't last more than a couple of months.
