Xecuter Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 Please learn from my error. Dasacoustic (https://www.dasacoustic.com/en/index/) the once popular plinth maker is no longer functional and I believe taking orders and not delivering as a scam. I ordered in May and received communication until August. Then I was told her family was ill and the next thing 0 communication. I ordered through PayPal and paid for buyer protection. Unfortunately when I lodged the dispute I did not escalate in time and apparently that means I forfeit all my rights. f**k Paypal. So I lost 1200 euro. I've requested a credit card refund with my bank but they said low chance since it's been more than 120 days. I found a page that when converted to English explains many people have been caught out too. https://melius.club/topic/21717-das-acoustic-esperienza-molto-negativa/ The company is only taking IBAN bank transfer now and no longer accepting paypal from what I understand. Not a good sign. please also see 2 recent purchases on ebay where the product was not delivered: https://www.ebay.com/str/dasacoustic?_tab=feedback It's a shitty situation for me but not the end of the world, others should NOT buy from Dasacoustic as it appears they are now just a scam site. Have a lovely weekend 3
maximus Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 That's shocking news, sorry to hear your misfortune. I can't believe PayPal didn't honour after paying for buyer protection, what a pack of assholes. Hope some positives swing your way after this sour experience. Frank. 1
audiofeline Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 Not only are you out the euro/$, you didn't get a beautiful plinth. I've been caught with an eBay seller stringing me along until the 120days has expired, fortunately it was under $20. Paypal should take more circumstances into account when evaluating claims.

Same here... the ebay seller sent me the wrong size cord and got played with a token comm every month until the 120 days lapsed. Luckily it was a low value item for $50.. 1
Xecuter Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 Hi team, Today my plinth arrived from Dasacoustic. For those following a long many other people did not receive their plinths and it was believed Dasacoustic was scamming people. I definitely believed my plinth was never coming. I received no correspondence from the team for over 3 months. Launched a refund attempt which was denied by my bank as too much time had elapsed. I would not exactly recommend them at this point but I feel they are on the way to repairing their reputation. So I would like to amend the title please. Dasacoustic not a scam but simply ceased communicating with customers and missed delivery dates by as much as six months. Now communicating and hopefully remain in business. Dasacoustic did not scam me. yay 5
maximus Posted January 6 Posted January 6 @XecuterWhat a great result and a wonderful New Years surprise. Must feel like a heavy weight off your shoulder. Best wishes with the new plinth 1

Xecuter Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 no explanation. just a blanket apology. "sorry for everything". I was dealing with Peter at the end. The green looks much better in low light btw. I'll post another photo in a sec. 1

audiofeline Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Congratulations on receiving your plinth, I hope you feel it was worth the wait. I look forward to a pic with your tt installed! Not good form from the company. Over the years I've had many lengthy delays on products I've ordered and on electrical equipment repairs. I accept that delays can occur beyond people's control. In these cases all I expect is regular informed communication so I know what's happening. 2 1
Xecuter Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 DAS sent me a photo of the plinth with a 301 inserted. Make me think I need to get mine done in black now... 5 1
audiofeline Posted January 6 Posted January 6 The plinth looks nice dressed. I think the 301 would look nicer in original finish compared to the black. 1

Wow that's stunning. I really like the deep forest green. Quite the adventure getting it in hand though . Wouldn't say you owe anyone an apology, but I agree the thread title could stand adjusting.
Rich Conrad Posted January 6 Posted January 6 And yes, I saw the wink upthread indicating that Steve was speaking tongue-in-cheek!

Something like Dasacoustic lack of communication and extremely delayed shipping times?

Perhaps you could make contact with those in the Italian forum thread you linked to, to show that orders are still being fulfilled. 1
Administrator StereoNET Posted January 8 Administrator Posted January 8 I have updated the thread title. I am reluctant to change it to suggest there is nothing wrong now, as we just don't know. You might be one of the lucky ones. I reached out to these guys a couple of years ago about a plinth, and there was enough doubt in my mind from the replies I was getting to my questions to prevent me from ordering at the time. 4

I've applied for an account a few days ago to do exactly this. Still waiting for account approval. 1
Hydrology Posted January 9 Posted January 9 While I'm reluctant to now part with money and hand it over to DASAcoustic, Ive been exploring other option for 401 plinths that look good to me also. Im possibly (price permitting) going to settle on this one from Solid Sounds in the UK:- 3 1

I was also looking at this one: https://www.peakhifi.co.uk/cgi-bin/ecom.cgi?Command=ShowProduct&db_pid=576 Shipping was pretty crazy expensive since it weighs over 40kg crated up I actually went to get a plinth from OMA when I was in manhattan in November. OMA wouldn't entertain me visiting their store in NYC. They said I wasn't a qualified buyer. Laughable. Edited January 9 by Xecuter
