I had a great day with Nick, my first listen of his Duke Speakers.

These speakers consist of a ported bass bin with around 10" Satori (papyrus?) driver, a triangulated mid/tweeter cabinet sits atop this.

First impressions are that these a superbly built and finished, the multiple polished layers of piano gloss and overall finish is perfection, probably the best i've seen.

They are biwired and have substantial outrigger supports under the speaker. Nick explained his design process and showed me all the graphs of the various responses which were impressive, and we enjoyed our discussions around the technical side of developing loudspeakers.

The thing that stands out with these speakers is how natural they sound, basically the speaker gets out of the way allowing the listener to just enjoy the music, I was very impressed, we are so lucky to have Australians who make such world class gear. Track after track were thoroughly enjoyable.

After some red wine and snacks we swapped over to my preamp and amps which was also quite a revelation.

Thanks Nick for your wonderful hospitality, would recommend anyone thinking of upgrading to consider his speakers.

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for stopping by yesterday to listen to the Dukes loudspeakers.

I couldn't agree more with your description of this model. It took us a while to find the balance we were looking for but luckily we did with our latest modification.

I was surprised at how well your pre and monoblocks sounded with the Dukes.

And before I forget, I appreciate you bringing a very nice red which is always welcome in my house.

Kindest regards

The voicing of the whole range,  of Nick's speakers  are superb.

The Dukes are certainly end game, they're that high up the Totem pole l believe! :thumb:

But without the $50k plus price tag.

And Nick is one of the nicest guys in the game. 😉

That's them, even more beautiful "in the flesh".

FYI if you have anything with piano gloss finish, a friend of mine who was Adelaide's top piano tuner  told me the best thing to clean them with is "Windex" that's what I'ved used for years and my piano and speakers still look like new.
