I just remembered that in Spain in 1976 I was in a bar and they were playing Who's Next. Behind Blue Eyes had finished and I was ready for Won't Get Fooled Again, except it didn't happen. I asked what happened and was told that was it. They showed me the album cover and it wasn't listed. Couldn't believe it.

The album came out in '71, a time when Franco was still in power. I don't know if the Spanish record company was too scared of political repercussions or if the regime outright banned the track but, there it wasn't.

Anyone else had similar experiences along this line?

Festival Records were getting sued over a Skyhooks song so the censored a whole bunch of albums by Ian Dury, Magazine and S & the Banshees just in case the case didn't go well

I have never heard of this. Was this was in he late '70's? I was living in England from '76 to '78 which may account for it if that is indeed the case.

The Skyhooks song was the live version of Why Don't You All Get F***** from Live Be In It. The censored albums were Join Hands, Secondhand Daylight, New Boots and Panties and Do it Yourself

When Marianne Faithfull's Broken English came out here the track Why D' Do It was missing and instead you got a 7" extended version of the title song

I remember when that album came out. The title track is great, but after a while Why D' Ya Do It becomes a bit of a bore. Shock value has a tendency to become banal with extended exposure.
