DonGreen Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I thought I would start a topic for this discussion rather then hijack other threads. I have limited experience with REW, so far only looking at integrating my widely different subs (one M&K VT105 and 2 QA 2070 Si's) into my system. I have made some small improvements (according to REW, and my ears) with minor adjustments to positioning of the subs. I only have the UMIK-1 but no MiniDSP to implement any timing suggestions from REW. Will the iOS app be enough to help me adjust my subs, and make improvements via Audyssey? I only have a very old iPad, so would probably just have to try to run it on my iPhone 12 Max. Should I just spend the extra and go straight to the MultiEQ-X on my Windows tablet (which runs REW no problems)? I'm looking to make improvements to my room with software, as it is a multi-purpose room and any sound treatment is not really a possibility, and I would not rally know what I was doing anyway. @betty boop your comments, and anyone ese's will be greatly appreciated.

I haven’t done this step it’s quite expense and requires gear. Getting very good result with just the app 2

Getting very good result with just the app Thanks Al. I'll dig out my old iPad and buy the app tomorrow, see what more improvements I can make. The EQ-X sounds like more of a commitment and effort that I can justify right now.

Getting very good result with just the app This was my own experience too. Definitely worth getting the app. I'm an Android user and purchased the app from the Google Store and installed it on a Samsung Tab s5e to run. This was in 2021 - see these two somewhat brief posts from my thread on my 4K upgrade. With a 7.1 and then 7.1.4 configure it takes a little time and patience to run through the tests. The ability to save and tweak the profiles from different runs is all I needed. I originally used to switch between 2 profiles but I found a happy balance and now run a single profile consistently. Planning to get a second (and larger) sub, so I will be revisiting this in due course. 1 1
DonGreen Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 I installed the MultiEQ on my old iPad a few days ago. I ran a full Audyssey sweep for my 5.3.4 setup and reviewed the results before uploading to my 6015. I boosted the mid to high range of the centre channel, and my system sounds amazing. Dialogue is a bit easier to hear, as I like listening without my hearing aids . I'm very happy with the result. The app is way worth it, gives you a little control over the normal Marantz Audyssey EQ, and the ability to view the Feq Response curves is very informative. Will be interesting to compare with what I've found with REW, the few times I have managed to run it. 2 1
