I’m not sure I understand what they have done and also not sure Sonos spending $100m for it means anything - can anyone “please explain”

Marketing >.< Who doesn't remember Bose's plastic speaker boxes in the 90s sold with all kinds of boasting marketing lingo.

 

For real: this can't be the first time someone has claimed physics-defying innovation in hifi. The high mechanical movement load on that prototype makes one concerned about unit durability.

so reminds me of Ducati's Desmodromic valve approach - which was great in concept.

 

Typically we want drivers to operate linearly as pistons - this concept discards this idea.

 

maybe it works?
