Just wondering if anyone can help with following power issue.

I have a two pin wall socket with my amp plugged directly into one pin and a power board hosting a tuner, CD player, modem, Nbn box and Foxtel box plugged into the other pin. Nearly every time I turn the amp on whether it be via the amp's main 'on' button or via the remote control (with amp on standby mode), the modem, Nbn and Foxtel boxes all switch off before switching themselves back on and powering up again. This doesn't happen with the CD or tuner as they are not left on standby mode after being used - they are always switched off.

Can anyone advise why this is happening? Is it an issue with the amp, power cord or the power sockets?

The amp is listed as 500w power consumption which I don't believe is anything out of the ordinary

Thank you

Does the amp have an ethernet connection?  If it does, disconnect it and see if the problem goes away.  In my system, when the TV gets turned on or off, anything else connected to the same network switch loses the ethernet connection for a few seconds.

Have you tried leaving the CD & tuner on to see what happens with them?

No ethernet connection to the amp just the tv from the modem. There is an optical cable from the tv to the amp

I haven't left the CD or tuner on as I was concerned they may be affected in some negative way by this issue.

Is the other equipment plugged into a power board with some protection circuitry? If so, the protection is probably too sensitive. Try a power board without protection.

If your power board doesn't have protection then it's probably a wiring issue with the house. Could be as simple as a loose/corroded connection, but an electrician should be called in.

The power board is a Belkin 8 pin board with a basic level of surge protection that cost around $100 a few years back. It's not a power conditioner or filter device or anything like that

It may still be the surge protection kicking in due to the inrush current to the power amp which will be on the same household circuit.
