powerav Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 HI All, After buying a Shanti dual linear power supply for my raspberry pi roon endpoint and Topping D30 dac and discovering the exciting improvements it made to overall sound. I would like to experiment with my PC that runs the Roon Core but it also supplies multichannel music too my AVR. What would the recommendations be?

I would recommend you use a normal switching power supply. There are no roon related analogue audio components in the PC, and you're probably sending digital to the AVR as well? 1
Snoopy8 Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Nose bleed territory is JCAT! https://jcat.eu/optimo-atx-worlds-first-truly-linear-atx-psu-for-audiophiles-heat-management/ HDplex are cheaper https://www.howenint.com/products/hdplex-500w-atx-linear-power-supply Farad soon to release https://www.faradpowersupplies.com/super-atx/ p/s I use Intel NUC with 12V DC input. Much easier to find LPS.

But I like the idea of passive cooling. I'll keep an eye on these when they are released in a unit (or become available like the OPTIMO DIY). 1

I just thought I read something somewhere that they don’t do multichannel audio with Roon, I do have a nuc floating around and that’s the reason I didn’t use it, I may be wrong but I’ll do some research. 1

Multi channel is a function of O/S used on NUC. According to this, if you load Roon Bridge, it should do multi channel https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/multichannel
