Honreekea Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 I was wondering if anyone knows, which is the best version of Harvest Moon on Lp? The original pressing of one of the later pressings? Here is a discogs link to the various pressings. https://www.discogs.com/master/38601-Neil-Young-Harvest-Moon Here is a pic just for reference. thanks
cheekyboy Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 My current copy is the 2017 US release on Reprise Records and I no longer have the original pressing to compare it to. This copy is a good pressing though, quiet and with good dynamics, so I have no complaints. Cheers, Keith 1 1
muzzagruzz Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 There will be another version once Mr Young releases his next box set in the archive series. I’m hanging out for that one as it should have Sleeps with Angels.

Even though I thought I was buying a black vinyl copy ( as the pics where of the black version). In the guff, clear vinyl was mentioned. As a proto audiophile, can I live with the clear version? Will it sound worse than a black version. So far, google gives "perhaps it might" sound version, maybe not.... message. What does the brains trust reckon?

Hello Honreekea, my copy is a 2LP on black vinyl and the side 4 is etched with the album cover pic. Not sure how the clear vinyl will sound, but I've noticed they have improved the SQ of the coloured and clear discs in recent times, so let us know how it sounds. Cheers, Keith
