Geoff2005 Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Hi All, I have a pair of Valdus 100 Wharfedales, +25 years old, used as rears in a 5.1 setup. I notice some terrible noises being produced by one and upon removal of the front cover pieces of the low end driver fell out. The outer section of the cone is breaking up and falling away. I have removed the driver and on the back it says "Model 1510 Wharfedale Yorkshire England 08 98". I've had a look at the other in the pair and it is about to experience the same failure. I have Googled but alas not found a source of replacement drivers, so my question is would there be a suitable driver available in AUS that could slot in? Speaker enclosure says 100w (prog) and Nominal Impedance 4 to 8 ohm. Mounting hole is 120mm diameter and existing driver projects 60mm behind mounting face.
VanArn Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Your best option and the most economical is to have replacement surrounds fitted to the faulty speaker units. 1
