Addicted to music Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 (edited) I want to be able to confirmed that this site is working and it confirms your details without paying. it's a Queensland Government site where you type your drivers license details in. It's the only site in Australia to do so. There is no such site in Victoria that does this and I'm not sure for other states and Territories. https://www.service.transport.qld.gov.au/checkdriverlicencestatus/application/SpecifyCustomer.xhtml?dswid=-8040 The reason for it is that a relative has had a car accident and the person refuses to give an address. claims he's left his license at home and promised to send the details. He's taken a picture of his assumed license and SMS the front side of the license after multiple requests. With a Queensland drivers license the address is on the back. So at the moment there is no way to determine the address for insurance purposes. And when I enter the license number, full name and date of birth it comes up as invalid. The license is for heavy vehicles and not sure if this link identifies heavy vehicle license status. The vehicle registration that's on the vehicle has come up with "suspended" on the Vic Roads Site. I've entered a number of valid vehicle registered plates and it confirms the status to be valid for those vehicle registration. At the moment it looks like the guy has given false identity or is unlicensed to drive and the vehicle he was driving is suspended due to unpaid fines. Unfortunately there is no way to check it via government department sites to see who owns this vehicle. Edited August 19, 2024 by Addicted to music
Martykt Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 @Addicted to music The easiest option most likely would be to go to the police. By law they have to give their details and if they fail to do so it can be an offence and the police are able to step in. That qld website probably won't help as I'm guessing it will only tell you if a license status but no address details due to privacy concerns. 2
