DJames89 Posted August 19 Share Posted August 19 I've been on the lookout for vintage floor-standing speakers that fit my budget. While checking various marketplaces, I noticed most popular vintage brands start around $400, and many of them are in poor condition. Interestingly, similar versions sometimes show up overseas for cheaper, even with shipping included! Then, I found a pair of Dali IV speakers for just $95 AUD. They looked great and were in working order, so I decided to grab them. I’m not sure of their actual value, but since I was prepared to spend between $300-400, it felt like a good deal to me. I think these speakers are from the late 80s or early 90s, though I couldn't find much information about them. I did find an old PDF brochure for the IV-a model on the Dali website, but I'm not sure what the differences between the models are. The back of the speakers has very faded labels (DALI 4 BLACK SN: 2042-67291), while the front displays the specs clearly. I haven’t had the chance to test them yet because I still need to get an amplifier. If anyone has more info or personal experience with this model, I’d love to hear about it! I'm not an audiophile, and right now, I’m listening to my turntable through a single Sonos Era 100 speaker, so I’m pretty sure these will be an upgrade!
