SixCats
Hello all, I am very interested in a new Unison Research "Primo" Hybrid Integrated Amp for possible purchase. I've watch every Video/Review I could find on Unison. It is my understanding that ALL Unison Amps are said to be made in Italy. That being said, I recently read a YouTube comment that insist that the (entry level) Unison Amp is made in China. Ugggh, I haven't any idea if this person's comment was just someone trolling to stir up trouble or what, however, it got me thinking, what if he is correct ? I mean, I was recently taken back to learned that Hegel Amps are made in China as opposed to Norway. My point being, I would be pretty damn upset if I spent 2K (or more) thinking I was purchasing an Amp made in Italy (or Norway) only to later learn it was actually made in China. So, could someone PLEASE confirm that the Unison Research "Primo" Hybrid Integrated Amp is truly made in Italy ? Thank you.
Kaynin
Their website is very clear - "From design to electronics, our production is a completely and proudly Made in Italy." https://unisonresearch.com/en/ If you have any doubts, just email them and ask. Thank you Kaynin for responding to my inquiry. Yes indeed, I did see that quote on their website. Perhaps I'm just running a bit on the paranoid side after having learned that Hegel is being made in China (that and Politicians lol). Ooh, yes, I did in fact Email Unison Research and posed this question and I hope to hear back from them soon. About a week ago, I posed the same question to a well known dealer of Unison Research (here in the U.S.A.) and I never received a reply (which of course added to my anxiety). Thanks again Kaynin.

In that case, don't go buying a Hegel amplifier. They are Norwegian designs, but definitely made in China, and still asking "Norwegian"prices. They are also not especially keen to mention that fact either. It's a good thing that your prospective Unison amplifier is actually constructed in the same place it is designed, which is Italy in this case.

Let us know what their response is, we're all interested to keep abreast of where things are being made. It's not easy keeping up! Plus there's plenty of Unison Research fans...
