Cloth Ears Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 I was just thinking about the scene in RED, where Bruce Willis steps out of a spinning car and starts walking back toward Karl Urban with gun drawn. Just the 'almost possible' along with the almost casual way the scene is digitally edited. So I thought about those short (or not so short) scenes that make you want to keep watching movies. Like... ...the Blue Danube scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey ...the scene in Lone Wolf And Cub: Baby Cart At The River Styx in the ferry, where Lone Wolf returns a shurikan to the sword hilt of one of the Gods of Death in a casual throw ...where Arnie finds his mother dead in Gilbert Grape ...the first dinosaurs in Jurassic Park ...the opening of Blade Runner Probably another hundred that just peak my interest or make me go wow.

surprisetech Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 The dogfights & refuelling scenes in Firefox. Probably more memorable because it was the first movie I saw in surround sound. Was Clint cooler under pressure than Bruce?

Brings back memories, but then I went back further to the 'Sensurround' release of 'Midway'. Some of the explosions literally took my breath away (I was only 13 at the time). 1
