After my long hiatus from this forum, can I check if anyone is heading to the HK show this year?

Sure am! My favourite event of the show calendar (besides the StereoNET Melbourne show, of course!).

First time to the show since 2018. Certainly still a large show,  but it is noticeably smaller than 2018.

 

These Handwa speakers sounded very good.

The Pylon speakers sounded surprisingly good, especially for them plonked on the floor.

 

The Thorens reference turntable was very impressive. In person a lot better than any photos I have seen.

 

The curtains below are actually speakers.  I thought they sounded quite airy.

The Dag gear was absolutely gorgeous and was driving the Magico M7.

The Focal speaker were HUGE. Sounded excellent. 

 Tannoy / Esoteric Sounded awful,  like am radio. Something was not right in the system.

I thought the same, but they said at the opening ceremony it was the biggest in history?

You know one thing I am having trouble with, is trying to work out what is actually vintage and just being displayed for nostalgic reasons, or what is actually brand new in the retro style! Seems we've gone in full circle!

Kudos MB on the Pictures--some of the best quality files posted here-certainly a show where you can actually see the equipment as well as hear it !

A change from some where the earlier fact seems to be cast aside in deference for "atmosphere".

Excellent work.

One day, I will go to this show, some lovely gear there, great pictures too, unfortunately the Gold note bellagio reference TT in the Gold colour, just does not do it for me, black imo looks heaps better, maybe the Gold one sounds better..
