Maggie Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 (edited) A quick comparsion between the 2 pressing, the AU OG pressing is clearly better. The Argentina reissue scores 85-90% for SQ, physical condition is B grade ( warped , last 2nd track of Side A has buzzing sound ) AU OG has more details, prominent bass and clarity. Hopefully the EU/US pressing is better ?? Edited December 11, 2024 by Maggie 2 1
Chigurh Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I was in my local secondhand record shop yesterday. They were asking $125 for an original pressing!

Rustee Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) Well I gave the new copy its first spin today. Unfortunately my thoughts align with @Maggie. My 2 Aus OG copies are better in every way; bass, dynamics, warmth, clarity and... quieter!!! No warping issues with my copy though. If you don't have a good OG copy to compare to, you'd still be happy (aside from the noise), but I'm really disappointed they didn't produce something at least as good as the original after all this time, for an album that well and truly deserves it. [Edit] I've now put the record through an US clean, and it is no quieter. Cheers, Russ Edited December 19, 2024 by Rustee 1
Demondes Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Is there going to be another release, out of US or Europe? I was thinking an AP or Craft or other release. I was annoyed that the one I bought from discrepancy records says EU/US on the order page, but when the record arrived the origin on the cover is Argentina. Haven’t had time to listen to the record yet, but this forums feedback doesn’t sound overwhelming. Given I don’t have an OG and I am not forking out $100+. I am sure it will be at least ok.
Maggie Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) @Demondes a LOT of folk outhere are still waiting for the EU/US release. If you check on stevehoffman's site, not much info available too. As for discrepancy's one, I remember when I first searched, it's advertised as argentina pressing but it's very quickly OOS,then after a few days more it shows they're in stock but with EU/US release. Honestly, if you don't do side-by-side comparison with the OG, nothing hurts, the SQ of this reissue is still pretty decent imo, worth keeping but the pressing quality is below expectation ( to me ). I won't pay stupid money to get the OG if I don't have one. Edited December 19, 2024 by Maggie 2
