Big fan of the Japanese beers so far - all of the ‘craft’ beers have been delicious.

This Hakone Shichitou pale ale is going down very nicely, with a small bottle of sake to follow.

The view of Lake Ashinoko doesn’t hurt!

Will miss the cherry blossoms in October 😢 nonetheless hangin out 😊

Don’t worry, Japan is 70 percent forested so the autumn colours are spectacular, make sure you visit the gardens in Kanazawa and if it’s late October, they will be starting to tie the tree branches up in readiness for the winter snow.

Last night in Kyoto - we discovered this fabulous tiny little yakitori Resturant.
Run by husband & wife plus son on drinks, Only seated about ten people
Skewers all cooked on a charcoal grill, he kept marinating the skewers halfway through - they were just amazing

Arrived about 5:20PM  but when we were leaving about 6:30 there was a massive queue outside..

Total bill for two with beers and wine was $65 so great value.

@klm is spot on - just showed a few dishes

you just gradually order them over the course of your meal, so everything is hot and fresh.

$3 per skewer and huge choices

Now On The Shinsenkan   on our way to Tokyo

Just passed Mount Fuji pretty amazing

Very familiar that perspective, it wont be your last trip north.

Whilst it is not as good as it once was, Tokyu Hands is not bad for buying some specialist hand tools for your line of work.

Arrived at the hotel in Japan around lunchtime so with a few hours to kill decided to head to downtown Akihabara.

Found a retro S/H Hifi store with some interesting gear.

Back out on the street ran across these cute girls - not sure what they were selling but they were certainly trying very hard.

The young guy  is having a serious think about it but can’t quite make up his mind.

It’s called a piggyback taxi service, see where she was indicating where to sit. They are limited to young males who have never experience a good piggyback, it’s a government initiative hoping to cause a spike in the birth rate. Very effective I believe.

Amazing architecture, It's the other thing in Japan that attracts my interests.

Gardens, landscapes, architecture, bonsai and even the pots for bonsai are artisan works. SO many things, the craftsmanship that goes into a real sword by a master sward maker, amazing.

Clay and I are playing tic-tac through Japan - I’m also in Tokyo now! It’s on a while different level - just so many people and so much stuff. The Shibuya scramble crossing is madness on a Saturday night!

speaking of cheap alcohol in Japan.  There doesn't seem to be a lot of dedicated bottle shops (as we know them) but rather just drop into a supermarket instead and pick up a couple of  2.7L or 4L bad boys 😂

Ochanomizu is where it is at gentleman. Easy walk from akihabara or one train stop. Heaps of hifi plus a really great audio union for LP's.

Wow Pete that is way more busy than when we were there.

You should take a Mario Kart for a spin thru that 🤪

I've done that a few years back in July - very hot when wearing the Mario outfit.

Everyone should do a Mario Kart trip!!
