Totima Posted April 13, 2024 Posted April 13, 2024 (edited) I’m selling a modded and well regarded Apple TV4K model. There has been plenty of discussion around this on the internet over the past 12 months and this mod was inspired by the Apple TV X DIY tweaks. Please note this is not a genuine Apple TVX, it is a standard Apple TV that I have personally modded. Apple TV 4K Model 2169 (well regarded model for modding ~ $150 second hand) Eichmann ETI Kryo XLR Male connector (~$120) Mundorf Silver/Gold wiring for internal caps/polys and short DC wire 25cm (~ $100) Super low ESR Panasonic 1000u FM caps x 5 0.47uf WIMA polys x 6 1x WIMA SMD film cap soldered on the Apple TV PCB. WBT silver solder Includes original Apple remote control Requires a 12V DC output linear power supply. This has been built for and is compatible with the locally built 12V Giesler LPS. One is currently being advertised on SN in the cable section. I can also change the connector to something else if you already have an LPS. Moving this on as I now have built 3 of these, mostly experimenting trying out different caps. I’m trying to recover some of my build costs as a result of my experimentation and I don’t need to hold on to three of these. All 3 of the units that I’ve built provide similar outcomes in my system. Generally, a superior audio experience from stock (most obvious) and video. As these ‘benefits’ are system dependent and rely on more than just the source but also the cables and quality of network streaming, your mileage may vary. Please note: This Apple TV4K does NOT connect to Mains Power and requires a suitable 12V DC output from a linear or switch mode power supply (such as an iFi iPower or similar).
