Spider27 Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Further Information: Got these from awesome fellow member and these are very well known and sought after for those who know. They seem very rare in Australia. These are from about 1965 and were very advanced for that time having the option for tri-amplification, a passive woofer and all AlNiCo drivers. They are (conservatively) rated at 40 watts and have an efficiency rating of 100db at 8ohm so they will play surprisingly loud before distortion. This is ideal for very low watt single ended tube amplifier. I was using it with 2W tube amp and worked very well. Mechanical condition: All parts including drivers and crossover are original and fully working. They work as intended. Cosmetic Condition: Cosmetically they are left to be desired. The wood veneers were peeled off here and there on both units and I did touch up with similar colour of paint during my possession so it looks okay overall but they really want to be recoated with new wood veneer to be look new again. I would kept this if it was cosmetically perfect but wife wants it gone so better go to someone who can make it look new again and enjoy the speaker with low watt tube amp or pure class A amp. Pick up only due to size and weight. thejt Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Banging deal. I liked these more then Yamaha ns1000. Less slam but more glow. 1
Mendes Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Freaking bargain as @thejt has stated. These make great music with SET amps. GLWTS 1

Jobd2212 Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Absolute bargain. I have a pair and live them. $300 is ridiculous valur for what these produce
LucasB Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 (edited) These ended up with me. I just wanted to chime in to state how impressed I am with these. I currently have KEF 104/2, B&W CM5 s2, DCM Timeframe 500’s and Technics SB-6 in the house and these may well be my favourite. Currently just running them off a Rotel A10 but may well give them a run in the bigger room with the March Audio P422 and see how that mash up of old and new works. Imaging is fantastic. They don’t have a lot of bass or go low but they do it well. Paired with a sub they are very lively and engaging speakers. Nothing else I own gets my toe tapping to jazz like these do. Take Five became quite hypnotic. Looking forward to seeing what else they can do. Edited April 9, 2024 by LucasB Typo 4
