It achieved that aim and up the sound quality another notch or two. The unit has an inbuilt linear power supply to service the board for the SFP modules and the network switch board, which is a modded D-Link switch. Current price landed in Australia is in excess of $950. There are a few scuffs on one corner of the unit, otherwise it is in excellent condition. I still have the box for shipping, which can be arranged at the extra cost - a quick estimation from AusPost calculator suggests it would be around $35 to most places, .
