SonicArt Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 (edited) Sonic Art has more vinyl coming into stock! HERE When I go looking for vinyl to stock, there are quite a few criteria to fill, one of the main ones being where was it made! There are so many re-pressings out there these days, and so much of it is coming from the 'EU' which would have made most of us very happy 30yrs ago, but these days EU means most likely Czech made from GZ, and the quality can be very hit & miss. Any vinyl I order in is usually made in the USA at RTI or QRP, some albums are made in Germany or UK, some even coming out of Japan (often older stock) and usually all are extremely good quality vinyl which sounds fantastic and is worth the high prices we pay these days (margins on vinyl are low for small importers, if I didnt want albums for myself as well, I dont think I could justify the time involved in getting it in). This month I am waiting on the following: FRIDAY NIGHT IN SAN FRANSISCO - 45rpm 180g version ROGER WATERS, AMUSED TO DEATH 180g double LP ROXY MUSIC 'AVALON' half speed mastered from Germany JENNIFER WARNES 'THE HUNTER' amazing sounding RTI pressing THREE BLIND MICE 'BLUE ROAD' Japan import! DIANA KRALL 'LIVE IN PARIS' another excellent album I usually order vinyl when I have a few requests, and add a few extra of each album, so if you are interested in any of the above, best to shoot me a message on the website to see if there are copies available still. dwbasement Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 The Blue Road is not TBM issue right? It is a reissue by someone else? Any chance you have a copy of Craft records RSD issue of the Bill Evans Everybody digs? Thanks
SonicArt Posted April 26, 2024 Author Posted April 26, 2024 It is a Japanese pressing of the original, by a new pressing factory setup about 6 years ago aimed at promoting Japanese jazz, they press a lot of current groups and have started doing some of the original TBM labels. All the ones for sale since the 2015 reproductions started, are essentially re-issues, its just that they have been handled by some of the best in the industry and pressed in the best factories, hence they sound friggin awesome! I was speaking with the guy who runs all the wholesale for the original impex/rti production and some have been dropped, "Famous sound of three blind mice Vol1" is now out of production totally, and only a few left in the world, they have cut wholesale pricing on this release due to extremely low stock. There are others in this situation. The repress for TBM takes forever, I know some of the albums I have been keeping an eye on are years into the repress, may never happen. The TBM box set of 3 albums done on 45rpm is still available, I am thinking of getting some of these in before it goes into the low stock situation, its around $340 though. I guess its not bad considering the quality is incredible and you are getting 3 albums, 6 discs. 1

Yeah, TBM hardly reissue their records, I was lucky to get a couple from Japan and bought one recently in Hong Kong. I have the famous three TBM records already so don't need the box set. I saw this RSD issue on 20/4, and it was sold out pre ordering....Jiro Inagaki & Soul Media - In The Groove. Still try to get one...
SonicArt Posted May 15, 2024 Author Posted May 15, 2024 Hi guys! Just some updates on Vinyl, I am trying to put an order together and get some more Roger Waters amused to death QRP pressings, also more Roxy Music AVALON half speed master German pressings. I was going to order the standard QRP 33.3 LP, but its run out just when I was sorting the order! AM waiting to see if the wholesaler has some more available. There is a 2LP 45RPM version available from QRP and these are in stock and would be $120, so if anyone is interested in the album please msg me and let me know, I want to try and finalise the order by Friday as the premium vinyl keeps going out of stock and frustrating me no end! 1 1

Made in Germany, it sounds pretty good straight out of the pack. Some amazing songs on this album, 2 favorites of mine being 'Take yo mama out' and 'Mary'. I have a couple left of "Friday Night in San Fransisco" the ltd 45rpm double album that was mastered from the original tapes by Bernie & Bob, it is an amazingly good album, I have the original 33 and a Master Sounds JAPAN version, this 45rpm from IMPEX Records is the best sounding. SEAL 2 is out, waiting to get another batch, hoping to get another batch! I have one left of Roger Waters AMUSED to DEATH, one of Gilmours new album, and still have a decent amount of Three Blind Mice Japanese jazz, if you have not heard TBM stuff before you really should!
